this-n-that

Just a quick update of what's been going on lately.

Last weekend, we went to Sienna's Bday party at the Arboretum. It was a beautiful day and we had a lovely time!

Check out the Birthday Girl in her adorable tutu - her mom made it! Our friends Kam and Vin are sitting with us here. We went to Vin's Bday Party this past Saturday. Derek had to work, so I had to wrangle the kids solo. I didn't get any pics. I'll post a link to Kam's page when she gets her pics up.
Here's Vin practicing cake eating in preparation for his own Bday cake:

She's Crafty!
I wanted to make some new pillow covers for our sofa cushions. I made some in December, but I wanted something that looked more Springy-Summery.

Kira helped

and modeled

Derek gave Jackson his new summer do, yesterday. This is the first time I've let D cut J's hair.

During

And after! I think he did a great job! I love when Jackson's hair is short. He has the most expressive eyebrows.

I've done some other crafty stuff - more on that later. Hope y'all have a lovely day!

  1. Obvs, you are a superwoman. So busy!

Jackson's haircut looks great...what size attachment did you use? I might try this with my shaggy crew.

  2. Jen - totally not a superwoman - all pics are carefully edited to avoid showing my messy house.

He used a 5 all over, then a 4 on sides and back, and then just the shaver to clean up the edges.

I swear it looks just like the $20 haircut I paid for last summer.

  3. Jackson looks very cute. So you sew... hmmm... that's going to be the next thing I pick up. We had a great time with you all last week, sorry we didn't get a chance to hang of Friday. BTW, did you make Kira's great top, the one she wore to Vin's? Too cute.

  4. Yes super crafty indeed.
The pillows look great as does the haircut.
I think I'll hire Derek to be our husband part time and he can roast coffee, make beer and give our son haircuts.
What would you charge for him?

  5. Lourdes - Thank you! Yes, I made her top. I haven't taken any pics, yet - I'll blog about how I did it later.

Kam - You are Queen Super Crafty and I bow to your crafting abilities!

Derek will work for food anytime you need his mad-husband skills.

  6. Wendy, you are the Jack of all Trades! I love the variety of things you put up on your blog. Keepin it real! By the way tell Derek Jaxson's haircut looks great. I know I used to work in several different hair salons before I gave up the beauty career. I still buzz my husband's hair off all the time even shorter like a #1 all over. Have a good one!
